My Favorite Season of The Year, STEELHEAD!

Welcome to 1,000 Casts! This our first post and we hope you enjoy this and all the other posts. Please feel free to ask any questions in the comments below.

Swinging bugs early in the morning

Here in Ohio it's steelhead season. From late October to early May steelhead anglers are battling the cold to fish for these beautiful fish. Whether your a die-hard bug swinger or a traditional indicator nympher we're all out there doing what we love. Though steelheading is tough and we get skunked a lot when the fish is on the line there is nothing better. "The tug is the drug".

Casting my favorite cast-the Snap T

Steelhead fishing is not a come, catch, and leave situation. It's persistence, hard work, time, and money. These fish are by no means easy to catch. Last season I caught one fish. ONE FISH! You are not going to a bass pond to catch a bunch of largemouth you are entering into a whole new game. The steelhead game.
